Carlsbad Caverns National Park Trip in New Mexico in Year 2010

GREG ARBUTINE

Updated: Feb 10

We visited Carlsbad Caverns National Park in year 2010. When we arrived we found out that the elevator was not working. However, access was still granted to both walk up and down as long as you were in good shape. This ended up being a photographer's dream day! The caverns were only lightly visited and the extra time up and down gave me more opportunities to shoot some of the amazing rock formations, stalactite, stalagmites, columns, and more. I was also allowed to use my tripod which made all the difference in the quality of my photos. The following day things were back to normal and the elevator had been fixed. We went deep below to an undeveloped area. We saw the caverns in a pristine and virtually untouched condition. It was absolutely incredible. Carlsbad Caverns is one of my favorite National Parks of all time. It is well worth a visit here.
